Bayonne Festival

Every year, at the end of July, the mayor hands the keys of the city over to its inhabitants. For 4 days and 5 nights, there is no escaping the festive mood… and the party !

During the day, you can watch the famous running of the bulls, the Basque championship espadrille hurling (take a look at our blog) or alternatively, the Sétois jousts (10 rowers on a gondola, one guy at the end of the boat, desperately trying to stay balanced while trying to knock his opponent from a rival boat : it all resembles the medieval equestrian jousts… but with a difference).

At night, make way for one hell of a party, concerts, beers 😉
